Guest Post! Autumn Makeup Tutorial

Hello there beauts! My name is Alyssa and I currently have a blog channel dedicated to storytimes, beauty related posts, and life advice. I am honoured to have been asked by Andreia to take part in this guest post. My channel is called “itsthelittlethingsinlifethatmatter“, so feel free to take a look at my other blogs as well. I have never been reached out to by a subscriber so I am absolutely thrilled to be given this amazing privilege, and be featured on her page! I am going to be sharing with you guys an autumn makeup tutorial that I have been loving lately. I absolutely love this fall weather and autumn is my absolute favourite season. There is something about this cozy/chilly fall weather that makes me happy every single day, and I love it. I also love experimenting with different fall makeup looks as well. I have featured on my blog from last fall my autumn makeup look but wanted to change this years up a bit.

I have recently worn this current makeup look to numerous fall weddings that I attended to in the month of September. I really enjoy purple and dark purple colours within this season, as I feel that they are super gorgeous and flattering. For this makeup look I am going to be strictly using the “Two Faced Boudoir Eyes Soft and Sexy Eye Shadow Collection” palette that I purchased at Sephora for $45.00. I absolutely love all of the different shades that are present within this palette, as I find they are all super pigmented and beautiful. There are a lot of purply shades within this palette as well, which is perfect for this autumn makeup look.

First, to get started I always make sure that I am using some sort of eyelid primer so that my eyeshadow stays on all day and the pigmentation really shows up. Of course, I like to go in with my favourite eyelid primer which is the” Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer” purchased at Sephora for $19.00. After my eyelids are primer, I am going to take this white/cream shade and apply this all over the entire lid with my Sephora Small eyeshadow brush.

After you have applied this colour all over the base of your lid, you are going to take this beautiful light shimmery purple in the shade “Sugar Walls”, and apply this within your crease. This helps act as the transition shade, and is not too vibrant. This is a very subtle shade that leads into the more darker shade of purple that we are going to add next. You can use a more fluffy eyeshadow brush for this process as it is easier to get right into the crease. I purchased mine at Walmart for literally under $10.00 and it does the job quite nicely.

After applying this shade into the crease, I then take the shade “Lap Dance”, which is a tad bit darker than the previous shade and apply this into the outer corner of the lid. I like to use the same triangular motion that I discussed in my last blog post to complete this step. Feel free to add as much eyeshadow as you prefer for this step, and you can always apply more product for a more dramatic effect, which ever you prefer.

Lastly from this palette, I go in with the darkest shimmery purple in the shade “Voulez-Vous” and apply this to the outer corner as well, creating more depth and definition. Again, feel free to add as much of this shade as you wish to! After creating a smokey eye, I then line the bottom of my lashes with this darker shade too. I then actually take my highlighter that I use for my face which is the “Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder” which I purchased at Sephora for $48.00 and apply this into the inner corners of my eyes as well as within the middle of my lid. I find this is super flattering and helps to brighten my eyes up. Do not be afraid to experiment with your different makeup products, you may find some can be used for multiple purposes and not just for their main purpose.

I then line the top of my eyes with a gel black liner and apply mascara to my top and bottom lashes. I am currently using “Falsies”mascara by Maybelline and absolutely love the way my lashes turn out with this product! Of course, you can not forget the lips! With this autumn look, I thought a beautiful purple lip stain would look gorgeous with it and not be too much. I lined my lips with the “Tartiest Lip Crayon” in the shade mood ring, and applied the lip stain in the shade Hangry which looks absolutely beautiful together.

And Voila! You are left with a beautiful fall/autumn makeup look that is not too over the top and is suitable for day & night looks. I do highly recommend trying out this palette by Two Faced, the shades are gorgeous and you can create numerous looks with them! Do not be afraid to sit down in front of the mirror and experiment, you never know what you may come up with!
